This brutal war and military crimes of Russian troops caused a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine with thousands civilians killed and millions becoming refuges. As a reaction to this act of aggression, many international companies decided to leave the Russian market, while some others continue doing business there as usual. Founded in Russia, US-based fintech company Xsolla works with top clients in the game development industry. In June 2022, the company announced in the media the liquidation of the Russian legal entity - Xsolla Russia Holding LLC, based in Perm. However, as the journalists found out, in fact Xsolla not only did not close the Russian office - it continues to hire people there. Currently, more than 200 employees work in the office in Perm. Moreover, according to sources, Xsolla received the status of "enterprise of special importance" in the Russian Federation. Increased revenue and staff in 2022 vs 2021.
Oriental Regent Ltd, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Summit Ascent Holdings Ltd, is set to sell its gaming and hotel operations in Russia. The wholly-owned subsidiary, G1 Entertainment LLC, is being sold to Russian entity Dalnevostochniy Aktiv LLC for a price consideration of $116 million. Summit Ascent expects to record a profit of US$5 million in FY24 on improved performance at its Russian casinos. The performance improvement was driven by a 12% increase in gaming and hotel revenue to HK$414.5 million (US$51.8 million) at its Russian integrated resort, Tigre de Cristal.

Spin Master does not have any operations in Russia. Spin Master suspended operations in the country in March 2022 and made the decisions to officially close the Russia office in June 2022. But three months into the war, Spin Master Corp. (best known for PAW Patrol, Bakugan, Kinetic Sand, and Rubik's Cube) is still “watching the situation in Ukraine” without taking a stance against the war and cutting ties with Russia.

While there is no a public statement regarding business in Russia, the company announced at reddit.com that it is not doing business in Russia as usual and firmly stand with the people of Ukraine. Corsair and all its subsidiaries ceased shipments into Russia in February 2022 and closed operations in the country as of summer 2022, resulting in the redundancy of all Russian staff. Corsair may still have products on sale in Russia, but these were all sold to regional distributors and retailers prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in Feb 2022.
