AlMasria Universal Airlines is an Egyptian private airline. The airline operates scheduled and charter services from Egypt. 'AlMasria' is derived from the Arabic word for 'Egyptian'.
AlMasria Airlines (from Egypt) and SEAIR Int (from the Philippines) have proposed to the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to discuss the transfer of Airbus A320/321neo aircraft, leased from S7 Airlines, and to allow the removal of aircraft from Russia. The foreign companies expect to take back the Airbus A320neo with problematic American engines, which cannot be repaired in the Russian Federation. The carriers promise to put them on flights between resorts in their countries and Russian cities. Potentially, the issue could also be about exchanging idle aircraft of S7 and other Russian carriers for other types of aircraft.
Egyptian airline AlMasria Universal Airlines is cutting its flight program from Russia to the resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada and back by almost a third from May 20, 2025. The fact of the program revision was confirmed by the Federal Air Transport Agency and a source in the Ministry of Transport. The reason is the carrier's shortage of aircraft due to secondary sanctions and flight delays due to flight safety threats.
