India's central bank has allowed HDFC Bank Ltd (HDBK.NS) and Canara Bank Ltd (CNBK.NS) to open a special "vostro account" for trade in rupees with Russia. Canara Bank has entered into a share sale agreement in relation to sale of equity shares held by it in Moscow-based CIBL with SBI, the bank said in a regulatory filing.
