Russia initiated aggression against Ukraine in 2014. On February 24, 2022, it started a full-scale military invasion to the Ukrainian territory. This brutal war and military crimes of Russian troops caused a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine with thousands civilians killed and millions becoming refuges. As a reaction to this act of aggression, many international companies decided to leave the Russian market, while some others continue doing business there as usual. We track such decisions of companies and urge them to stop funding the war.

Exit CompletedIn 2022, the Swedish Essity (brands Libresse, Zewa, Tork and Tena) localized the production of more than 70 products in Russia, the production of which is "maximum independent" of imported raw materials. Essity divests Russian operations (promised to finalize the transaction till the end of June 2023). Essity has exited the Russian market. In 2022, Essity’s net sales in Russia corresponded to about 2% of its total consolidated net sales. The buyer is the company New Technologies LLC, with the principal owner Igor Shilov. The earnings impact, including accumulated currency translation differences, amounts to approximately SEK -0.5bn and will be reported as an item affecting comparability in the third quarter of 2023. The company managing the former assets of the Swedish paper manufacturer Essity has changed owners. Among them are Nikolai Gushchin-Kuznetsov, who may be associated with the Guta group of Yuri Gushchin, as well as funds managed by a Gazprombank structure. 19.05.2025: The entry about the founder of ESSITY HYGIENE PRODUCTS LLC has been removed from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. EDELWEISS JSC becomes the new founder of ESSITY LLC.
Received revenues in Russia in 2022-2024. Revenue decreased in 2024 vs 2023 by more than -10%. 25.11.2025: Dr. Theiss Naturvaren GmbH becomes the new founder of KREVEL MEUSELBACH LLC. KREVEL MEUSELBACH GmbH has been removed from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

It’s a legal battle for pharmaceutical company Ambu to liquidate its subsidiary in Russia, but CEO Britt Meelby Jensen remains confident that it will be accomplished before the New Year (2024). "Ambu is in the process of formally liquidating our Russian subsidiary. We did not sell or promote any products in Russia during the 2023/24 financial year, and we have no plans to do so in the future," the company said in its annual report. 10.07.2025: The legal entity AMBU LLC was liquidated.

Stop exports to Russia. Finnish Orion Pharma has started the liquidation of its Russian office - it is planned to be closed by the end of 2022. Divested the rights of some of its self-care brands in Russia. Finnish drug manufacturer Orion Pharma is suffering critical losses after leaving the Russian market. The exit itself was not complete because there were no changes in the ownership structure. Also, according to preliminary data, the company's management expects to return to the Russian market in the near future. 19.07.2025: Aleksandr Mayevich Prilepin is no longer the organization's CEO. Anastasia Artemovna Katanisi has become the liquidator of ORION PHARMA.
