This brutal war and military crimes of Russian troops caused a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine with thousands civilians killed and millions becoming refuges. As a reaction to this act of aggression, many international companies decided to leave the Russian market, while some others continue doing business there as usual. Russian and Belarusian officials and boxers will not participate in IBA international sanctioned competitions. Canceled international events in Russia and Belarus in 2022. (Gazprom advertised as a general partner on IBA site.). But later International Boxing Association lifts ban on Russia, Belarus. USA Boxing, the national governing body for the sport in the country, terminated its membership of the Russian-led International Boxing Association (IBA). The International Olympic Committee (IOC) at its 142nd session in Paris decided to exclude the International Boxing Association (IBA) from the list of recognized federations.

Russian athletes can compete at IJF events under the IJF flag, logo, and anthem. The IJF Executive Committee has decided to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in IJF events as individual neutral athletes. IJF bans spectators wearing Russian military symbol at World Judo Championships.
Recommended that international sports federations not allow Russian or Belarusian athletes and officials to participate in international competition. Paris Olympics 2024: IOC aiming to include Russian athletes despite Ukrainian president's call for their ban. The appeals tribunal of the IPC satisfied the appeal of the PKR and confirmed that the decision of the General Assembly of the IPC to suspend the membership of the PKR in the IPC is canceled. The General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee fully restored the status of the Paralympic Committees of Russia and Belarus. Restrictions on the committees of the two countries were introduced due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
