Still operating and actively hiring in Russia. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin transferred the Russian subsidiaries of the Italian water heating company Ariston and the German manufacturer of household appliances BSH Hausgeraete to the temporary management of the Gazprom company. “On March 26, 2025, by Presidential Decree No. 176 of the Russian Federation, Ariston Holding NV regained ownership and full control of the shares of its Russian subsidiary,” the Italian company said in a statement. Paolo Merloni, Ariston’s chief executive, welcomed the decision. “We intend to resume cooperation with our Russian local leadership, in full compliance with existing sanctions, and continue our legacy in the country,” he said in a statement. Ariston said its board of directors would have to reconsider its previous decision, taken last August, to deconsolidate its Russian unit, called Ariston Thermo Rus, and record the related losses.
