Europe's largest producer of alumina, a key raw material for aluminum smelting, has been found to be part of the Russian defense industry's supply chain. Supplies come from the Aughinish plant in Ireland. It is owned by Rusal, whose founder, Oleg Deripaska, is under U.S. and EU sanctions.
