Increased revenue volumes in 2022 vs 2021 (+$361mn or +28%). Carlsberg sells its Russian business, subject to regulatory approvals. Moscow seizes Russian subsidiaries of Danone and Carlsberg’s Baltika. Carlsberg has written down the entire value of its Russian business and terminated agreements allowing the local subsidiary to sell the company’s products.

Will exit the Russian market and take a substantial non-cash impairment charge. 03.06.2022: Renamed from "CARLSBERG VOSTOCHNAYA EUROPA" LLC to "HOPPI UNION" LLC. Dragging feet on exiting Russia. Carlsberg on June 23, 2023 has signed an agreement to sell its Russian business. Russia seizes control of shares in Danone and Carlsberg subsidiaries. Carlsberg writes off value of Russian operation. Baltika filed a lawsuit to recover damages of 6.24 billion Danish kroner, or 84.1 billion rubles, from Carlsberg Group structures. The St. Petersburg court accepted Baltika's claim against Carlsberg for $900 million in damages.
