Cloudflare is an American web infrastructure and website security company that provides content delivery network and DDoS mitigation services.
The company has a data center in Russia. The San Francisco security and web performance services provider is complying with sanctions, but decided against terminating its services inside Russia. "Russia needs more internet access, not less," Matthew Prince, the company's co-founder and CEO, wrote in March. "We believe removing our services from Russia would do more harm than good," a spokesperson told CBS MoneyWatch in an email.
Cloudflare has minimal sales and commercial activity in Russia – there is no a corporate entity, an office, or employees there – and the company taken steps to ensure that it does not paying taxes or fees to the Russian government. The company beleives that exit Russia would do more harm than good. Cloudflare: They have minimal sales and no legal entity, yet believe that exiting Russia would do more harm than good.
