The EMAG Group is a manufacturer of machine tools. The company's headquarters are in Salach, district of Göppingen. The main customer sectors of the EMAG Group are the automotive industry, automotive supplier industry, mechanical engineering, renewable energies, electrical industry and the oil field industry. More than 8000 pick-up lathes, 2500 grinding machines, 1800 machining centers and 1200 gear cutting machines are in use worldwide.
Received revenues in Russia in 2021-2023, there is no any official announcement. According to Russian customs databases, a Hungarian company owned by a Lithuanian resident supplied Russia with high-precision thread grinding machines manufactured in Italy at the plant of the German corporation EMAG. The export of such equipment to Russia from the EU is prohibited. The machines were brought in via Turkey. In Russia, a typical buyer of equipment of this level under this brand is the Titan-Barrikady Scientific and Production Center, a leading center for the creation of weapons for ground forces. Importing such machines to Russia is prohibited by European export control rules. EMAG has not announced its exit from the Russian business; moreover, its Russian subsidiary EMAG LLC increased its revenue turnover from 450 million to 2.2 billion rubles in 2023. However, according to EU rules, the company does not have the right to sell thread grinding machines to Russia: either directly or through third parties.
