Suspended Russia and Belarus from all IIHF sanctioned competition. The 2022 World Junior Championships venue will change from Russia. No decision has been made for the scheduled 2023 World Championships in St. Petersburg. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Council has banned Russian and Belarus from competition for the 2023-24 championship season. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has extended the ban on participation in competitions for the national teams of Russia and Belarus for the 2024/25 season.
