Sahara Thunder might seem like a legitimate Iranian import-export trading company, whose areas of expertise include procurement and project management in the fields of oil, gas, refineries, petrochemicals, construction, electronics and communication.
In early 2024, hackers hacked the mail servers of the Iranian company IRGC Sahara Thunder, obtaining a mass of data on the production of Shahed-136 attack drones for Russia. In particular, the received documents contained data on the production of such UAVs in the Alabuga free economic zone, located in Russian Tatarstan.
