Roskomnadzor (RKN) announced on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 a "partial restriction on calls" in the Telegram and WhatsApp messengers, citing in its decision materials from "law enforcement agencies to combat criminals." WhatsApp made a statement regarding Russia's intentions to close the application.
