Shenzhen Minghuaxin is a large Chinese supplier of drone components.
A significant Chinese drone parts supplier, linked to businessman Wang Dinghua (owner of Shenzhen Minghuaxin), acquired a 5% stake in Russia's leading FPV drone maker, Rustakt (producer of the VT-40 drone), marking the first known direct Chinese equity in a sanctioned Russian defense firm, according to a Financial Times investigation that revealed the deal, which Russia quickly tried to conceal by removing ownership records. This investment deepens the military-industrial ties, as Minghuaxin and related firms were already major suppliers, sending hundreds of millions in components like batteries, motors, and controllers to Rustakt and its allies, helping fuel Russia's drone war in Ukraine.
Shenzhen Minghuaxin is a Chinese electronics manufacturer whose components have continued to reach the Russian market after 2022 via distributors and intermediaries and are used, among other things, in drone production. According to the Financial Times, the company’s owner Wang Dinghua acquired a 5% stake in the Russian firm “Rustakt,” a producer of FPV drones for the Russian military, indicating direct corporate involvement in Russia’s military-industrial supply chain rather than merely indirect exports. This entails significant sanctions and reputational risks and demonstrates conscious support for Russian military drone manufacturing.
