Leave SuspensionRussian mobile operator Tele2 Russia has announced plans to stop using the Tele2 brand by the end of 2024. The telco recently announced plans to carry out a rebranding exercise and has already devised a strategy that maintains continuity with the current brand, aimed at seamlessly transitioning from its current brand identity. Tele2 Russia said this move comes as the company decided not to renew its licensing agreement for the existing brand. The Russian operator ‘Tele2 Russia’ still exists as a company — but according to Wikipedia, it has been 100% owned by Rostelecom, not Tele2 AB.
The Swedish telecommunications company Tele2 AB turned out to renew the brand license to Tele2 operator in Russia. Tele2 Russia to stop using Tele2 brand by year-end in 2024.
