In a remarkable move, major digital platforms TikTok and Netflix have suspended their services in Russia, a response to the country’s newly enacted ‘fake news’ law. In light of Russia's new "fake news" law, TikTok has decided to suspend live streaming and new content for its video service while they consider the law's security implications. The Tagansky District Court of Moscow brought TikTok to administrative responsibility for refusing to provide data to Roskomnadzor as ordered. According to Article 19.7.10 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, the court imposed a fine on TikTok Pte. Ltd in the amount of 4 million rubles. Moscow's Tagansky Magistrate's Court has fined Zoom, TikTok, and Likee for violating the law on foreign internet companies. Zoom has been fined 79.5 million rubles, TikTok — 6 million rubles, Likee — 4 million rubles.
