Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş. is a company in Turkey, operating four refineries with a total capacity to handle an annual 30 mn tons of crude.
Turkey’s largest refiner is limiting purchases of Russian oil and fuel to avoid being hit by U.S. sanctions, the latest customer to show caution in its dealings with Moscow after last month’s measures. Istanbul-based Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS, better known as Tupras, will stop accepting cargoes that do not meet the Group of Seven oil price caps from Feb. 27, said a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because the matter is sensitive and private. Turkey's largest oil refiner Tupras has resumed purchases of Russian Urals crude after stopping earlier this year due to tightening US sanctions on Moscow. Tupras resumed its purchases after Urals crude prices fell to their lowest level since 2023 earlier this month, comfortably below the G7 price ceiling of $60 a barrel.
