Stay Scaling BackWorld Aquatics, the international sports federation that unites national federations of water sports such as swimming (including open water swimming), diving (including high diving), synchronized swimming, and water polo, has allowed Russian and Belarusian water polo players to participate in international tournaments as neutrals starting January 1, 2026.
World Aquatics to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete as ‘Individual Neutral Athletes;’ Paris still uncertain. World Aquatics has established strict selection criteria for the participation of Russians. Due to these criteria, none of the Russians under the neutral flag will be able to take part in the February World Championship.
