Hello from KSE Institute team! We wish you and your family happy holidays!
You may know KSE Institute at the Kyiv School of Economics for quality analytics: sanctions, Leave Russia, our macro work on Ukraine’s stability, defense, investment projects.
One thing not everyone knows: the Kyiv School of Economics is also a university. The students we teach are the pipeline for the work you read — some of them will become the analysts who write our reports, and some will write yours. About 10% of the KSE Institute team are current students, and another 15–20% are graduates.
This Christmas we are asking you to support that pipeline — these very students.

You know what Russia’s war does to their daily life: sirens, blackouts, fear and exhaustion. Our students still show up and take exams after sleepless nights to the sounds of explosions.
The university is raising $4 million for 800 full scholarships — $5,000 each. It covers tuition and housing. It keeps Ukraine’s strongest students in Ukraine.
Meet Andriy Filipov, a recent graduate of the KSE Master’s program in Economic Analysis.

His father was taken prisoner during the Azovstal withdrawal in May 2022, and for 3 years Andriy lived without any news or contact. Shortly before that, he lost his mother.
Yet even in these darkest moments, a spark of interest in economics and the support of a friend helped him take his first steps toward KSE. What began as a distant dream became possible thanks to a full grant that covered his studies. Today, Andriy works at the KSE Institute on the Ukraine Macrohandbook, modelling inflation and monetary policy. His work informs decisions that shape Ukraine’s recovery, contributing to a more stable and secure economic future for the country.
His father was released as a part of the prisoner exchange 2 days before Andriy graduation this summer.

A scholarship is the difference between losing people like Andriy and building Ukraine with them.
Can you help—fund a scholarship, or chip in for one?
Thank you,
