This brutal war and military crimes of Russian troops caused a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine with thousands civilians killed and millions becoming refuges. As a reaction to this act of aggression, many international companies decided to leave the Russian market, while some others continue doing business there as usual. We track such decisions of companies and urge them to stop funding the war.

DPD continues to operate in Russia as usual, relying on localized systems. Its cooperation with clients, partners, and employees remains unchanged.

The company ELA Container has signed an agreement on the sale of its Russian subsidiary in Obninsk. After an intensive search and taking into account its social responsibility towards its employees, the company was able to find a buyer who will ensure the takeover of all Russian employees. Revenue increased in 2024 vs 2023 by more than +50%.
Р&D Institute of Electronic Instruments (NIIEP), which is a part of Rostec, is also referred to as the developer of the "brains" for "Kinzhals." Their contractor, AO "Radiant-EK," supplied integrated microchips directly to NPK KBM. "Radiant-EK" continues to import items during wartime, including coils and tapes for protective packaging of electronic components from Germany, with Advantek Gmbh as the sender.
In 2023, the Russian manufacturers of footwear for the power structures "Donobuv", "Faraday", "Iskozh" and "Unichel" directly imported products from European companies worth 4.1 million dollars. Among the largest European suppliers: the Belarusian-German company Belintertrans Germany Gmbh ($0.9 million).
The German company EKC.AG has been supplying chromium to Russia for more than a year, despite international sanctions. Since February 24, 2022, the company has denied any ties to defense enterprises and claims that Russia has its own reserves of chromium and does not need to import ore. According to Handelsblatt, from January 2023 to April 2024, EKC exported chromium to Russia for about 24 million euros, which was more than half of the total annual imports of this metal to Russia during this period.
In June 2025, Hegelmann Group owner Anton Hegelmann, together with the company’s lawyer Michal Bronas, attended a meeting in Elista, Russia. The event focused on Kalmykia’s cooperation with Iran and involved local officials. The presence of a shareholder and top management of Hegelmann in Russia is significant, as the company positions itself as a European player but takes part in public events in Russia. This raises questions about the company’s real stance on compliance with sanctions and its relations with the Russian Federation.
The supplier of gun drills and other tools from the manufacturer Sandvik to NPK KBM is LLC "Mir stanochyka." This Russian defense contractor receives products from Sandvik through the company IR-Logistik GMBH in Berlin.
The German company Vansped Logistics (on behalf of Reißaus & Baumberg Maschinenbau GmbH) has already supplied Stan LLC with technical equipment for foundries after the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to the ImportGenius database, deliveries were made in July 2022.

Shortly after the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine in February 2022, the shipping company Hellmann Worldwide Logistics informed the employees of its Moscow enterprise that it was withdrawing from Russia. Before the war, Hellmann's Moscow office helped Russian industrial firms ship tools, spare parts and equipment to Russia from the West, but after the invasion such supplies were severely restricted by international sanctions. Instead, a Russian-registered firm called Heinrich Tapp Rus (HT Rus), owned at the time by at least two former Hellmann employees, took over many of Hellmann's old customers. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has stated that it has nothing to do with the activities of HT Rus or the people who run it.

The company announced that its management board has decided to enter negotiations with three Russian financial investors regarding the sale of its Russian subsidiary, Jungheinrich Lift Truck LLC. "The divestment would mean the termination of Jungheinrich's business activities in Russia," the company stated. Jungheinrich has successfully completed the sale of its Russian subsidiary Jungheinrich Lift Truck OOO to a Russian financial investor and asset manager. The company had already announced the signing of the agreement in its ad hoc announcement on July 21, 2025. With the completion of the sale, Jungheinrich is ending its activities in Russia. Forklift manufacturer Jungheinrich reported a sharp drop in profit for the past financial year, weighed down by the sale of its Russian subsidiary. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) in 2025 fell to 228 million euros compared to 434 million euros in the previous year, the MDax-listed company said on Friday. Management attributed the drop to the sale of the Russian unit and costs related to the transformation program.
